Bakery Australia was launched at the 2007 Foodservice infocus Expo and provided the bakery industry with its own internationally aclaimed event. Bakery Australia was developed to raise the profile of the Australian Baking Industry through the promotion of the Australian Artison Baking Cup, National Bread Day and National Baking Competition. Having moved to Sydney in 2008 at the Foodservice Australia Expo it returns to its home in Melbourne in 2009.
The Australian Artisan Baking Cup will feature nine 3 member teams competing daily at the expo.The competition has been developed to create opportunities and be a vehicle for Australian Artisan Bakers to one day compete against the rest of the world in the "La Coupe du Mode de la Boulengerie Bakery World Cup in France.
47% of visitors to the previous exhibition listed Bakery Equipment and Ingredients as one of their main areas of interest. Australia's major equipment and ingredients suppliers will again come together to showcase the latest equipment, innovations and ingredients at one central location. Supported by Leading Edge Bakery and Food Service Journal and leading industry associations the bakery section will be hive of activity over the 3 days of the show.
The Australian National Breadmaking Competition and National Baking Competion will be judged at the show and is expected to attract entries from all states of Australia.
